BROCHURE:

WHO SHOULD REGISTER?

  • 9th Grade: Ninth grade students have the option to take the 2008 Washington Assessment of Student Learning (WASL) test in reading, writing, math and/or science. It is strongly recommended that only 9th graders who are ready to show they meet 10th grade standards take the test prior to 10th grade.
  • 10th Grade: Required
  • 11th & 12th Grade: Retakes
  • 3rd-8th Grade: Schedule available on March 17th for testing dates April 14th through May 2nd.

WHEN:

10th Grade:

This year, all high schools in the state of Washington are required to administer the 10th grade WASL test in the morning on the following dates.

March 10, 11, 12, 13: Reading & Writing
April 15, 16, 17, 18: Math & Science
IA Location: 8:45 am

3rd-8th Grade:  IA test dates and times. If you are testing at your resident school, the dates and time may be different. Be sure to contact them right away.

WHERE:

  • Internet Academy is an option if you live within driving distance. We would be glad to meet you!
  • Resident school: Contact the WASL Test Coordinator at your local school to make arrangements. It is important to do this soon, so they are able to prepare for your student.

If you register to take the WASL, call or e-mail IA’s Test Coordinator, Wendy Nevin at Wendy-Nevin@iacademy.org or 253-945-2239. Include where you plan to test (IA or resident school) so future information is communicated to you.
