Enrollment Process

FWPS - Enrollment Information:

Internet Academy is financially supported through the WA state K-12 funding. Five (5) courses are considered full-time for all schools, except Todd Beamer for which four (4) classes are full-time.

  • Students attending Internet Academy as their sole school may enroll in up to five (5) courses with no tuition fee charged.
  • Students may be enrolled at Internet Academy and a resident building school with no tuition fee charged, as long as the combined number of courses between Internet Academy and a resident building school does not exceed the defined full-time status at your school.
  • Students who are enrolled full-time in a resident building school, or other educational program, are required to pay tuition.
  • Students who are enrolled in a Private school will be charged a tuition fee for course(s) taken, unless the course(s) selected are not offered at your school.
  • If applicable, Internet Academy tuition fee is $325.00 for each one semester (.5 credit) course.
  • Tuition fees are non refundable.
  • Students are required to inform Internet Academy of all courses taken at other educational facilities.

Application Process:

  1. Parent/student completes the online application – required for each school year.
  2. Upon Internet Academy’s electronic receipt of the online application, an Application Packet will be mailed to student’s home address.
  3. In order to complete your student’s application, additional forms are required to be submitted to our office. Please review the following list carefully and submit the required forms as applies to your student
    • School Enrollment ApplicationRequired for all applicants; form included in Packet.
    • Counselor Approval FormRequired for all applicants; form included in Packet.
    • Statement of UnderstandingRequired for all applicants; form included in Packet.
    • Intent to Provide Home-based InstructionRequired for students who have indicated Homeschool status, or are enrolled in less than five (5) IA courses. This FWPS form is available at: www.iacademy.org/forms. Exception: Students who are enrolled in a FW building school and Internet Academy with a total of five (5) courses are considered full-time public education, and an Intent form is not required.
    • High School TranscriptRequired for students in grades 10-12.
    • Most Recent Report CardRequired for students in grade 6-9.
    • Birth certificateRequired for students entering Kindergarten (must be 5 years old as of August 31, 2005).
    • TuitionRequired for students who are enrolled full-time in another educational program. Please contact our Registrar for further information regarding tuition.
  4. Send ALL completed forms to:

    Tuition payment (if applicable per guidelines stated above), may be made by check, cash, money order, or credit card. Please call our office in order to make payment by credit card.
  5. After receipt of ALL required forms, the completed application will be evaluated for acceptance. Upon acceptance, a WELCOME letter will be sent to student and parent personal e-mail accounts as listed in your online application. NOTE: Please notify IA immediately of any changes to your personal e-mail accounts or home mailing address.
  6. The WELCOME letter contains your student’s Internet Academy ID information and directions for completing an Online Orientation and Orientation Assignment.
  7. Student Online Orientation and Orientation Assignment: Students will work independently through an Online Orientation, learning how to set up and use their FirstClass® e-mail account (provided by Internet Academy), access and navigate through their courses, and complete and turn in their assignments. They will finish by submitting an Orientation Assignment. A completed Orientation is required within48 hours (2 school days) after receiving your WELCOME letter. Upon receipt of the completed Orientation Assignment, student is assigned teachers and will begin working in classes!

Out-of-District - Enrollment information

Internet Academy is financially supported through the WA state K-12 funding. Students are considered full-time students at their resident school when the school program is based on five (5) or more classes (semester programs), or four (4) classes (quarter programs)

  • Students attending Internet Academy as their sole school may enroll in up to five (5) courses with no tuition fee charged.
  • Students may be enrolled at Internet Academy and a resident building school with no tuition fee charged, as long as the combined number of courses between Internet Academy and a resident building school does not exceed the defined full-time status at your school.
  • Students who are enrolled full-time in a resident building school, or other educational program are required to pay tuition.

We require a FWPS Intent form which is available at: www.iacademy.org/forms. Exception: Students who are enrolled in a building school and IA with a total of five (5) courses are considered full-time public education, and an Intent form is not required.
