Example 2:

Figure A has been moved and now looks like figure B. The two figures are congruent.

  • How was figure A moved to become figure B?
  1. Slide
  2. Flip
  3. Turn
  4. Slide and turn

Here is one way to answer this question.

You may want to take a piece of paper and trace figure A. Keeping the paper on figure A, slowly move the paper so that the figure fits on top of figure B.

So how did the paper figure A get to be figure B? When you moved the paper slowly to figure B, you should have had to flip the figure to get it to fit on top of figure B. Is that what you found out? I hope so.

Your answer is letter B, Flip.
