  • First, fill in the chart with reasons why the son thinks he should own a car and the father thinks he shouldn't own a car.
  • Also look for words or phrases to show how attitudes of father and son. How does each one feel about the request to own a car?
  • Second, write about how their reasons are different.
  • Now, here's the part where your brain is activated to high speed: compare and contrast the attitudes of the father and son. How does the father feel about the request? How does the son feel about his request? Can you tell how they feel about each other?
If you write all that clearly and completely, you're in for a full four point score!
