The Octopus

Question:

How is an octopus different than many other members of the mollusk family?

Think:

What are the key words in this question?

  • octopus different than mollusk family

Remember some of the words to indicate differences:

different although while
individual unique distinct
in contrast besides in spite of
unlike otherwise however
various dissimilar on the other hand
but

A strategy in this case might be to find the answer yourself in the text, and then look for it in the answers. Let's try that this time. The paragraph where mollusks are explained is the first paragraph:

Many mollusks--clams, oysters, snails--have protective shells, but the octopus does not. It's body is shaped like a bag, from which eight long arms radiate. It is a predator and eats mainly shellfish and crabs. The bite of most octopus species is toxic, or poisonous.

How is an octopus different than others in the mollusk family? Type the sentence that tells the difference here:

Now, look at the answer choices, and see if you can find the same answer.
